proposal to abolish grading.

The article is not stating to abolish grading as he says that testing is the answer. however how do know that the person has the drive to make it through a class and keep up the pace. Tests are glimpse into an instant in time as grades are a rough guess as to how he performed for a longer period of time. I also know that some people are extremely good at taking tests and that others are bad and try harder to make up for that fact. You can not judge someone off of a couple of simple or difficult questions no matter how hard you try. I am one of the people that is an excellent test taker but has trouble with getting large amounts of work done. Grades are needed to some degree. however i thing that we can put more emphasis on testing. It is a good idea but the education system has evolved to one of the best forms and it most likely will not be changing any time soon. most colleges already put more weight to test grades during a semester than homework. so the idea of a single test to make or break you sounds much more daunting than the many test that we have over the course of our college life to get the grades that we desire.
